A strange list, in my opinion, as it includes many horror and superhero movies (along with horror-comedy hybrids, like Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein), and others that seem to be only "sci-fi" in passing or accidentally. One of my personal favorite sci-fi films, Oblivion, is not on the list at all. If I understand the basis for the rankings, it's something to do with combining online critical rating scores - I don't know. At least it doesn't seem to be the work of only one or a few opinionated individuals...and it seems not to be weighted heavily in favor of either older or recent movies. I just find any list that ranks an animated Japanese film from the '80s something like thirty places higher than Wonder Woman to be somewhat bizarre.

Come to think of it, I don't recall seeing Soylent Green on the list. Or the original The Day the Earth Stood Still.

I'm not familiar with The Quiet Earth, but I've seen the other three. I don't believe any of them made the list.

As a TV series, Babylon 5 blows them out of the water. Of course it is 5 years of work. Also the remake of Battlestar Galactica was awesome.

Mario Bava's Planet of the Vampires is an undisputed classic, despite the fact that the antagonists were Zombies rather than Vampires.

I have to go with Peter and Nathan ...Silent Running and B-5. I have the next set of the short lived series, Crusade...that techno-mage was a pure badass, that was one I would have like to seen it run more than two seasons................
Book Series:
Fantasy: Shannara: Brooks
Hard Core Sci Fi: Childe Cycle: Dickson
Humor: Xanth: Anthony
