Casino mogul Sheldon Adelson spent nearly $150 million (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/03/sheldon-adelson-2012-election_n_2223589.html) on Republicans during the 2012 elections, almost entirely in support of candidates who did not win.
But his cold streak hasn't left him at all discouraged, he told the Wall Street Journal (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887323717004578159570568104706.html?u ser=welcome&mg=id-wsj) in a recent interview.
"I happen to be in a unique business where winning and losing is the basis of the entire business," Adelson told the Journal.
"So I don't cry when I lose.
There's always a new hand coming up.
"In fact, Adelson, whose personal wealth is estimated at (http://www.forbes.com/profile/sheldon-adelson/) $20.5 billion, says he's ready to literally double down on the GOP when those new cards are dealt.
Mr. Adelson's 2012 donations were double what he spent in 2008, and looking ahead, he said, he was ready to again "doublel spend that much and more," he said in his first extensive postelection interview.
"Let's cut any ambiguity."
