United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice has pulled her name out of consideration for nomination as the next secretary of state.

“If nominated, I am now convinced that the confirmation process would be lengthy, disruptive and costly – to you and to our most pressing national and international priorities,” Rice wrote in a letter to President Obama obtained by NBC News (http://rockcenter.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/12/13/15888883-exclusive-susan-rice-drops-out-of-running-for-secretary-of-state-saddened-by-partisan-politics?chromedomain=nbcpolitics). “That trade-off is simply not worth it to our country…Therefore, I respectfully request that you no longer consider my candidacy at this time.”

I believed Kerry earned it.

I think Rice is only 48 years old and sill has young kids at home. Her husband probably don't what her looking like Hillary after 4 years of non-stop travel, although Black Women don't age like White Women anyway.

But I do hope Obama names her National Security Adviser just to rub in the noses of Gram and McCain.

Not really. Condoleeza Rice was fine and did a good job.

Gosh...it must be so hard to be a rich, successful black woman. How does she cope?
