U.S. Civil Rights Commissioners: Obama-Era School Leniency Policy Brings ‘Fear’ and ‘Danger’ (http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3638160/posts)

Two members of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights say the Obama-era school leniency policy that discourages reports of threatening behavior by minority students to law enforcement is dangerous.

“Many schools that have adopted lenient disciplinary policies – i.e., defining offenses down so that blacks and Hispanics aren’t suspended or expelled at significantly higher rates than whites and Asians—have seen marked increases in the number and severity of offenses,” attorney Peter Kirsanow, [http://www.usccr.gov/about/bio/kirsanow.php] a Republican member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, tells Breitbart News. “St. Paul is just one example, but numerous districts across the country have reported spikes in violence against teachers and students, as well as other forms of disruptive behavior.”
“Students (and teachers) have reported being fearful of going to school,” adds Kirsanow, who also chairs the board of directors of the Center for New Black Leadership. “One school principal stated unequivocally that the people that are most harmed are the good students who want to learn but are harmed by the chaotic environment.”
Similarly, in a paper released in January, U.S. Civil Rights commissioner Gail Heriot, an Independent and a professor of law at the University of San Diego, writes with her colleague, Alison Somin, of the dangers of the Obama-era policy:

The debate over the Obama administration’s policy comes as Nikolas Cruz is charged (http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/03/07/nikolas-cruzs-jail-records-reveal-details-gunmans-behavior-in-days-after-florida-school-shooting.html)
Wednesday with 17 counts of premeditated murder following his shooting rampage at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Broward County, Florida.
Despite many warnings of Cruz’s propensity for violence and aggression while he was a student at the school, he was never arrested — and was ultimately able to purchase a firearm.

Broward County Public Schools adopted (http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2018/02/26/broward-county-likely-inspiration-for-obama-school-discipline-policy-to-report-fewer-arrests-suspensions/) its PROMISE disparate impact policy after current superintendent Robert Runcie left Chicago – where he once worked for Obama education secretary Arne Duncan – and assumed his post as head of the school district.
~snip~
Within a year of Runcie’s arrival in the school district, school arrests dropped dramatically by 66 percent. Seeking to implement a similar nationwide policy, the Obama administration brought the Broward County officials to Washington to propose their plan as a possible model for school districts across the country.

Soooo, condoning a behavior begets more of it. Who'da would'a thunk it?
Obama's "Promise" leniency policy is so ill-conceived that it could have only been contrived by a Marxist Leftist, affirmative-action, Harvard graduate.
Guess I'm getting old because I have seen this ad nauseam in New York city, Chicago, and Los Angeles, then it went national. Always the same stupid thing over and over.

Minorities behave badly
Blame white racism in the system
Stop punishing minorities
Then act shocked and surprised at results.
The schools do stuff that is exhausting in California with multi-language teachers, excuses for excess absenteeism, behavior interventions..
It's the kids that get totally screwed by these policies, the kids that want to learn and behave well.
We're supposed to:
Blame AR-15's
What happened at the Parkland Stoneman Douglas High School
Blame guns in general
Never previous government policy failures.
They must be hidden at all costs.
Even at the cost of our children
The inability to counter this perverted Marxist Socialist Progressive agenda created by the "Democrats" and it's goose stepping adherents in the media use Guns and the NRA as their scapegoats in their biased swill mills. When it should be contested by GOP state and federal legislators who should be demanding investigative hearings exposing the former administration's policy failures
Never ever mention the following:
Rather than examining the conduct and arrangements of the Broward county Sheriff’s Dept. performance failures. A dramatic reduction in disciplinary incidents at Parkland were reported after the selection of Obama’s Chicago friend as school superintendent occurred which was publicly acclaimed. Including that the school district was receiving large grant money from Obama’s Attorney General because of those results. While many critics claimed encouraged criminal activity. Which should require our present US Attorney General investigate why when the FBI knew that Cruz should not be able to purchase weapons did. And review these grant programs instituted by the previous Obama administration.
It should start with the tragic death of Trayvon Martin who in the system that failed him, Nikolas Cruz and the myriad of children we haven't heard about that are victims of this bogus and failed PROMISE Program..

More BO the Peep failure. But what was that a California Law Professor telling others that BO the Peeps policy is a failure that was waiting to happen.Who would have seen that coming.
