Another Trump Triumph

Two Million Americans Got Off Food Stamps In Trump’s First YearThe number of food stamp dependent Americans hit a six-year low in President Donald Trump’s first year in office, reflecting an improving economy and falling unemployment, according to a U.S. Agriculture Department (USDA) report.
An average of 42.2 million Americans participated in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) program in 2017, which is an 11 percent decrease from 2013, when a record number of people used food stamps, according to USDA (https://www.ers.usda.gov/webdocs/publications/88074/eib-190.pdf?v=43174).
“Federal spending for SNAP totaled $68.0 billion or 4 percent less than in the previous fiscal year,” USDA reported. “This was also 15 percent less than the historical high of $79.9 billion set in FY 2013.”
It’s the fourth year in a row SNAP participation fell. Previously, the number of people on food stamps grew for 12 years. About 13 percent of Americans used food stamps in 2017. That’s well above pre-recession levels.

That bastard Trump forced them to get jobs. I am sure they will be voting for Democrats so they can get back to an easy lifestyle.

Never trust Bo for actual facts:

"But analysts say that while reinstating work requirements has contributed to the drop in program participation, so has the better economy, since fewer people are in need. Data show that the share of the U.S. population participating in SNAP tracks with (https://www.cbpp.org/snap-tracks-changes-in-share-of-population-that-is-poor-or-near-poor-6) the share at or below the poverty line. So the lower number of recipients, says Melissa Boteach, vice president for the Poverty to Prosperity Program at the Center for American Progress, a nonprofit, is “a good thing if more people are finding jobs and finding higher wages."

Faulty chart = WRONG.

As of July 7 (https://www.fns.usda.gov/sites/default/files/pd/34SNAPmonthly.pdf), 42.6 million Americans were receiving SNAP benefits during the current fiscal year, down from 44.2 million in 2016. The 2017 figure is the lowest since 2010, when 40.3 million people were on food stamps. The number peaked in 2013, at 47.6 million.

How do you even breathe without instructions? The chart is not "wrong", hack, you need to learn how to read one.

The chart shows a downward trend when it was ACTUALLY GOING UP, all the way through 2013.

Well, they touted that Trump was erasing everything he had done, but I didn't think he would erase their ability to think. Then again, hacks don't really need that ability in the first place.

$#@!ing Beta.

It shows a downward trend, including 2013. Which is the HISTORIC PEAK of SNAP...also a "trend that started under Obama".

It shows the ENTIRE YEAR 2013 as "lower" than 2012.

Can't read your own bullshit chart?

You are too ignorant to have this discussion with. If you need assistance on how to read a chart, do a google search.

It's shit like this the reason Trump won, low information/intelligence voters.

Yeah...because you're too thick to tell a downward line from and upward one. Read the bullshit numbers on the side of the bullshiit chart. They claim an OVERALL DROP 2012-2013..which is BULLSHIT.

Naturally, like most of the leftists here, you lack linear thought/logical deduction capabilities.

I briefly considered digging up the actual numbers and preparing my own chart. Then I realized I don't care enough to do so. Next year the numbers will be even lower. Thanks, Trump.

The chart you offered was prepared by an organization that is hard left, if I recall correctly. I would not be surprised if their chart is wrong. But, I don't care enough to check their work.

Well with Black Unemployment and Latino Unemployment being at their lowest levels. This is expected to happen.

Naturally the leftness is upset that Trump gets the credit.
