Police confirm that an explosion has occurred Tuesday afternoon at the Coryell Memorial Hospital in Gatesville, Texas.
There is not a confirmed number of injuries reported at this time, however, ambulances are being requested from the surrounding communities. The explosion appears to have occurred from an expansion area of the hospital that was under construction. Smoke could be seen rising up and there are reports of a building collapse.
Police have confirmed that they are responding to a “major emergency” at the hospital. Both the hospital and nearby nursing facilities are being evacuated. A major power outage in the area has also been reported around the city and especially in the downtown area, according to KWTX.
