In a federal courtroom in Washington on Thursday, a judge heard about something the Trump administration had just done that clearly angered him. The government, he learned, had deported an immigrant mother and daughter who are plaintiffs in the lawsuit the judge was hearing over asylum restrictions.
So the judge did something highly unusual: He demanded the administration turn around the plane carrying the plaintiffs to Central America and bring them back to the United States. And he ordered the government to stop removing plaintiffs in the case from the country who are seeking protection from gang and domestic violence.

The U.S. district judge, Emmet Sullivan, of the District of Columbia, was presiding over a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union and Center for Gender and Refugee Studies on Tuesday. He had earlier been assured by the government in open court that no plaintiffs in the suit would be deported before midnight Friday.

SCOTUS is going to have to step in and tell these courts to stay out of this. Enough is enough.

MS 13 isn't interested in a woman and her child. She is using it as an excuse to enter the US. Maybe to join her already here illegal husband. Or to gain asylum and chain link to bring him in later.

We have a problem in the US and the OP wishes to chide Trump but refuses to acknowledge the illegal problem and could not care less about the harm they do to the US. The OP's only concern is that as many of these low worth foreigners gain entry to the US and vote Democrat their entire life.

Shame on the judge. It may be time for a Constitutional crisis.

Quite right. How dare law and order take priority in the USA. Is this judge trying to change the habits of Trump's lifetime?

What a disgrace. Fire the judge. Better still, put him in jail. How dare he administer the law!

The judge has no Article II authority. He or she has overstepped. Things like this are why judges are almost always the earliest assassinations in a rebellion. They turn the law against the lawful.

So to get this straight: People illegally in the country could not be deported because somehow they have the right sue us for not letting them illegally stay in the country?

I will accept your admission that you really don't know what you are talking about.

It would be easier on everyone if you just said that up front instead of trying to bullshit your way through a discussion.

Based on his posting history, we can just read that in all of his posts.

Exo has more substance. Not much, but more.

Folks, they are entitled to due process. I didn't read the link, but once they hit our soil, they are entitled to due process.

I agree. However, the Justice Department has the legal authority (contained in the immigration legislation previously passed and signed into law) to determine the ground upon which someone can be granted asylum. They have decided that threats of gang violence is not grounds for asylum. It does not matter if the judge disagrees with the AG (Justice Department). The law gives them the authority to determine the valid reasons for asylum and the Judge does not have Constitutional power to unilaterally change the law.

Personally, I would like to see the US House start impeachment proceedings against any judge that attempts to change existing law from the bench. I think once judges start losing their cushy jobs for overstepping their authority you will see much less law writing from the bench.

What is due process for an illegal alien who falsely claims asylum? It should be a simple hearing followed by deportation. We should not have to pay a single cent to house, feed and provide lawyers to illegal aliens. If you want to do it for free, be my guest.

Don't waste court time. Don't waste our time.

He has no juristiction. SCOTUS needs to tell these judges to stop ruling on things they have no business ruling on. You don't know shit about our judicial system.
