My question as well.
I have Flavius Josephus' "Antiquities of the Jews" right in front of me and he mentions nothing of Jesus' political leanings.
What other sources are there?

This is one of my favorite things about liberals CJ. Even when they're making complete assholes of themselves and redefining "don't know jack" in the process they STILL give off that aura of "I'm smarter than you" while doing it.
ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY ADORABLE!!!
There are lots of sources for this. I have read lots of things along these lines. The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail covers many of these sources. Although it has been a long time since I have read it, I don't believe that the authors discounted Jesus' divinity. They did offer many alternatives to the official story.
Sources for this?
Quote:
Jesus was immersed in party politics .
The latter doesn't even make sense.Quote:
Jesus was a rebel who split from the Eastern early Christians on fundamental grounds and was prepared later to work with the Zealots to rule on a consensus basis .
It has hundreds of citations of Jesus splitting "from the Eastern early Christians on fundamental grounds and was prepared later to work with the Zealots to rule on a consensus basis"? Jesus split from his disciples? What does that even mean? Who are " Eastern early Christians"?
In any case, these sources are just as subject to redaction as the earlier sources.
Also, the fact that the Romans did not annihilate the early Christian movement as they did several other contemporary Messianic movements speaks decisively against the idea that Jesus of Nazareth advocated the violet overthrow of the state.
