Fact is they don't want these young woman in school and it is logical that someone wanted to deter them from going. Whether it be the Taliban or not. If they wanted to kill them they could have but they got their message by fear.

Who ? Where's the evidence ? Was there actually any physical poisoning at all ? Suppose I said that a US soldier did it out of revenge for the arrest of his murdering buddy ?

Kidnapped Chibok schoolgirl rescued in Nigeria
Jan. 5, 2018 -- One of the schoolgirls abducted in 2014 by the Islamist group Boko Haram has been rescued, according to a Nigeria military official.

The Nigerian Army on Thursday announced on Twitter the girl is with troops and is safe and receiving medical attention.

The girl is one of more than 270 kidnapped by the group from a school in the town of Chibok. She was rescued more than 100 miles from Chibok in Pulka, in northern Borno state. The military identified the girl as Salomi Pagu and said she was found with a girl named Jamila Adams who is about 14, and another child for whom the military did not list a name or age. Adams and the other child were not identified as being part of the Chibok group.

More than 100 of the kidnapped girls are still being held by Boko Haram and their whereabouts unknown. On the day they were captured, about 50 escaped. In August, a top commander of Boko Haram confessed to leading the abduction of schoolgirls and surrendered to the Nigerian army. In September, more than 100 were reunited with their families in the capital Abuja.

Police in northern Afghanistan say 160 schoolgirls were admitted to a local hospital after they were thought to be poisoned by the Taliban. It's the third such poisoning of Afghan schoolgirls in less than two weeks.
The girls "complained of headaches, dizziness and vomiting before being taken to the hospital," Hafizullah Safi, director of the Takhar health department, told CNN. Most were discharged within a few hours, Safi said.
Officials suspect their classrooms were sprayed with a toxic chemical by militants who oppose education for girls.

why doesn't Afghanistan want their children educated?

Offer a pipeline out of the country for their girls and women. Some will take it, some will not. Vet the $#@! out of them . Then as they grow into women introduce them to all the nice guys in modern cultures being dissed by their cultures women for "bad boys".
Win , win. With the bonus that they will not be able to breed as quickly.
