I did something bad: Beware this thread contains pure evil :)

I did something I wasn't supposed to today. That damn pie just had my name on it. Why do they have to bake those apples in cinnamon and sugar? I mean why? Now would someone please wipe this lasting smile off of my face? How can a crust be so flaky, yet so soft?

I know, I know, I am not supposed to eat it. I know it is "bad". I know it is wrong. But if it is so "bad" then why did it make me so damn happy then?

Yes I know the scale will probably take a noticeable shift in the ascending direction. I may have lost some of my life expectancy. Which many here would probably give praise for, LoL. But was it worth it? Hell Yes!!!

Live you life and enjoy it. Diet is a lifestyle and you'll fail miserably if you deny yourself foods you love. You just need to understand proportion.

I swore off candy, cake and ice cream effective 08.19.19. Trying to put on some muscle weight.

I swore it all off back in 2008 or something like that. But I just really felt like today some pie was in order. Did you ever try out the Keto diet? Although I did agree with Peter in your keto thread, that you are already at an optimal weight.

I was just curious about it. I kind of like to talk about nutrition. I'm athletic but a bit
underweight. I used to eat a little ice cream to make up the calorie deficit but I don't think that's working. Harder work at the gym + more calories in the form of good food is the way to go.

I totally agree with you. In your case perhaps proteins would be the way to make up that calorie deficit. There are all kinds of ways to get proteins. It will help with your muscle building. I guess we need at least 40 to 60 grams per day. I guess for men the 60 range is best. There are even vegetable proteins if you don't want to go over board on meat.

I was aiming for 70-80 grams of protein in the past but now I'm averaging a hundred. Monday through Friday it's almost all plant and low fat dairy. On the weekend I eat meat. Eggs, chicken, pork etc. I couldn't meet my goals without dairy. That was huge in my case. It's a good problem to have and kind of obnoxious to talk about so I usually just chat with Peter and a couple of other fitness guys here.

60 grams is needed for a sedentary man. If you are working out you need more based on what you are doing.

So you consumed about 275-300 calories. Just shave it off something else or take a long walk. Always denying yourself is also bad. There are worse things to eat than apple pie, especially if you didn't have ice cream with it.
