Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

It really is odd. This is another area where the progressive left is woefully inconsistent. One day morality is private. It's personal. It is not to be imposed. The next day politics must have a moral basis.

My favorite line from the NOKO meetings. "We tried to discuss this with Obama in 2012 and he wouldn't give us the time of day."
Breaking campaign promise. Why? Because he was ran by handlers like most politicians.
I am tired of everyone fighting with each other. This is all by design.

He makes some legitimate points about Trump being governed by instinct, but he's completely off base to say that Trump's instincts about meeting with North Korea were wrong. Specifically:
There is nothing magical about having a bilateral summit with another leader, even one who is hostile towards your country. During the cold war, the US and the Soviet Union had several bilateral meetings with one another. This writer just cannot stand the thought that Trump's instincts were better than decades of DC group-think. The "experts" have been telling us for so long that a bilateral summit with North Korea can only happen under some unspecified, perfect conditions, crafted carefully by "dour" bureaucrats with decades of experience in the subtleties of international relations, that most people have simply accepted this shibboleth as fact. But with one afternoon, Trump was able to disprove this sophistic narrative by relying on his instincts. That must hurt for someone like this writer who has placed his faith in the political establishment. There were voices, yes, that warned that maybe doing something like this on the spur of the moment wasn’t the world’s best idea. That something like this takes planning. That maybe there’s a reason a bilateral summit with North Korea just hasn’t magically happened in these last 80 years, and maybe even diplomats—dour, bureaucratic men and women that they are, always seeing the complicated side of things—have a point about treading carefully into these waters.
Power always thinks it has a great soul, and vast views, beyond the comprehension of the weak. And that it is doing God service when it is violating all His laws.
