Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

It was called Fitzgeralds. Although I have spent some time at Pat O'Brians. Too many people there for me. Once when I was in NOLA for several days I met a lesbian couple there. We drank- a lot. On the second night the little cute one put her cap on my head, kissed me, and told me she didn't want to be a lesbian that night. She wasn't. Her girlfriend was furious.

When you live there it is hard to keep moderate with fried food. On Airline Highway, just past the Parish border is the best Po-Boy shop in the area. I love their shrimp Po-Boys. They add so much shrimp and what falls out as you eat it is enough for a good snack latter on.

A neat historic fact about NOLA is that a lot of poor people inherited the houses of their parents and those houses were paid off long ago. All they have to do is keep up with property taxes to keep the place. And then find money for services like electricity, water, cable, etc. In law school I lived in one of those hoods and helped dig trenches to bury cable lines spliced from someone else. It was third world stuff- several people sharing one account.
