Better pictures of the portrait show some resemblence but... not a great portrait. I get the shades of grey/black/white and colour thing, but the actual face is not quite right. But it's art - doesn't get much more subjective. Maybe it is related to whatever "style" of art it is.

Michelle Obama Unveiled Her Official Portrait – The Audience Reaction Says It All


An official portrait of former first lady Michelle Obama was unveiled at the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery Monday morning.

The painting was done by Baltimore artist Amy Sherald, who is known for her social justice painting style.
“Let’s just start by saying, ‘Wow,’ again. Let me just take a minute. It’s amazing. Wow,” Obama said after the portrait was unveiled. The moment was met with a gasp and applause.
All presidents and first ladies have their portraits done and hung in the Portrait Gallery.

uhh its not creative art, its a portrait addie its supposed to look like the person you are painting.
His portrait looks just like him, hers she looks more white than black, doesnt look like her at all, the shape of her face isnt even right

I did not post this to insult her, that portrait looks nothing like her, she looks more like a white woman.

That picture is overexposed. The actual painting doesn't look like a white woman, but it's not a great representation of Michelle.

Both are lovely but not a good likeness.

Barack's is better but I don't get the plant overgrowth.

I think it is lovely....like her.

It might be a nice painting, but it doesn't look like Mrs Obama.

I actually like Michelle's portrait, except for the fact that it doesn't really capture her face properly. Barack's portrait was far more accurate, but the foliage is a bit aggressive. The artist was trying too hard to make a statement and the background threatens to overwhelm the subject.

Ok but its still a lousy portrait

If you look at obamas hands theres an extra finger on his right hand, art critics are saying his hands are out of proportion.
