I love Uber Eats. Good way to get delivary from places that typically do not deliver

But you can use something like a pressure cooker, or crockpot, and you can pretty much just toss the food in it throw a bit of seasoning in and voila it cooks it for you. It can really help make meal time easier. You can toss in meat like chicken or a roast, and throw some veggies in like potato and carrots. That could make a nice meal, and easier than cooking.

Hang in there friend. Well said in the OP we should never take today for granted.
I was going to suggest that actually. I bought my dad one for Christmas but he never used it.

It's great for small meals but it takes a little getting used to.

If you don't get the time pretty much exact with a pressure cooker, you can end up with mush. FYI

For most a crock pot is fail proof.

    Totally agreed.

Jim - would you try that, a crock pot?

So stews, chili, ham and cabbage, pulled pork, mac and cheese, just some things that can be fairly easily made in it.

The old cast aluminum ones yeah, needs a wise hand to wield. The instapot variety is pretty much fool proof, and it works as a crock pot also.

I don't cook "small" since I have two grown boys still at home so I don't have a lot of ideas for cooking smaller meals, maybe @Dr. Who has some ideas, she's super smart with stuff like this.
There is Meals on Wheels: https://www.mealsonwheelsamerica.org...lter=&state=AZ Given Jim's health he may well qualify.

On the other hand, Green Giant has some healthy frozen options: https://www.greengiant.com/products/#steamers
Roasting a couple of chicken breasts means that there is still one left for the next meal.

Also, if he has a slow cooker, this might be an option: https://www.tyson.com/products/ready...-beef-stew-kit
One of these kits should be good for 3 meals. It comes with the seasonings. Of course you can buy all of the ingredients separately and probably for less, but this just makes it simpler.

Cooking larger amounts of stew or chili in a slow cooker or an Instapot and freezing them in single portions is also an option and quite economical.

Neither my wife nor are any great shakes in the kitchen. But on Friday, she dug out her uncle Hank's pulled pork recipe, put all the ingredients in a crock pot, and Friday night we had some incredible pulled pork sandwiches. First time she's ever made it.

Made pulled pork a lot when I was in Missouri, pork butts were less than a buck a pound.

It's glorious in a crock, super easy too.

Needs a rub but after that, wow.
