This is a blind spot for you Peter. We place our embassies in the host nation capital for a reason (really lots of reasons). If we have to spend money to secure it then we spend the money to secure it.
This is a Constitutional requirement. Money is not the important issue.
I know. Why don't we pull all of our embassies worldwide back to the US. We can put them all in Texas. That will save lots of money.

Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.
I pledge allegiance to the Constitution as written and understood by this nation's founders, and to the Republic it created, an indivisible union of sovereign States, with liberty and justice for all.

I have no anti-any country binders. My question is what do we get out of it. If we don't get adequate compensation, then we should not support it.
If the Israelis paid for our new embassy AND provided us a cash incentive on a yearly basis I would be 100% on board.
But for us to absorb that cost- we have zero national security reasons to do so.

No I am not an anti-Semitic.
I understand that if the US policy does not shelter Israel, that is the immediate charge.
I, on the other hand believe that Israel is more than capable of defending itself (as demonstrated by past bad - ass demonstrations)
I have zero care of where the US places its embassy in Israel. We have one now that doesn't appear to being blown up by terrorists. I see zero reason to build another in a place where it will be under constant attack. (Unless of course someone else covers the bill. Especially if we allow our security forces to open up on the attackers.)
It would be helpful if Americans focused on US vital national security interests and left the interests of other nations to those nations.
