If he can join the military, then yes he or she should be able to.

No one said 18 year old kids, we have said that 18 is an adult. An 18 year old, as an adult, can join the military all by him/her self.

A 17 year old kid, has to ask Mommy and Daddy first.

Does that clear it up for you?

Then I will count you as being consistent. As well as someone who understands a simple question and isn’t afraid to answer.

To me, it's pretty simple, all adults should have the same rights. The state doesn't really have the right to set age limits, to do is basically circumventing certain amendments and/or laws in the first place. If the state has the right to set the age to drink or own a gun at 21, ignoring the age of the majority, 18, then they have the right to set it at 35, or 50, or even 80, which basically usurps said Amendment or law in the first place.

It's pretty simple, if 18 year olds are still kids in the eyes of the state, then an effort needs to be made to change the age of the majority to 21.

I agree, across the board. No one under 21 would be able to enter into contracts, make their own schooling decisions, get married, make their own medical decisions, join the military, vote, smoke cigarettes, watch "R" rated movies, etc...

Right. I think that's a tad ridiculous, but then again, I think 21 being the drinking age is just as absurd. It's either they're kids or they're not. 18 or 21, in any case, the state needs to make up their minds, because the inconsistencies are absurd and not Constitutional, not that they care about that goddamn piece of paper to begin with or anything....

I’m inclined to agree with that. If you restrict certain rights for those under 21, we also need then to repeal the 26th amendment.
