According to a poll taken in New Jersey, 85% of Hispanics support the Dream Act followed by 82% of African-Americans and 77% of whites and white are slightly less likely to support the legislation because they are not Hispanics and this election is primarily about the economy and Romney is likely to prevail by carrying both Ohio and Colorado because no incumbent has won a re-election bid when the economy is in a recession.
This election is not about race. It's about the economy, jobs, and it's a referendum on Obama's job performance.

According to a Los Angeles Times poll:
....there is a huge ethnic divide on the issue, according to the USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times survey: 79% of Latinos approve of the law, while only 30% of whites do.

Come sit down beside me I said to myself
And although it doesn't make sense
I held my own hand as a small sign of trust
And together I sat on the fence

Of course it's about race. Race has been at the core of US politics since the 1860s.
And, as the white population gets overtaken by Hispanics and blacks, it will continue to be until they realise and accept that power has shifted.
It will change the economic dynamics currently dominated by whites. It will change the laws whites use and obstruct to maintain their favoured and often corrupt position.
It will eventually see the end of virtual slavery.

53% of Hispanics in America are White Hispanics who are racially white and of Hispanic descent and whites of English descent will become less prominent demographically within few decades but America will maintain a white majority for some time to come as half of Hispanics are actually whites and whites in America are more ethnically diverse than those in Australia who are predominantly of English stock because of the country's enduring colonial ties with Britain. Moreover, anti-Hispanic sentiments may be the reason why 70% of whites in California oppose the Dream Act and Hispanics are expected to become the state's majority by 2024 while 70% of whites support the legislation in northern states where Hispanics are less than 20% of the population.

Sorry--but I do not accept the idea that being intolerant of intolerance is THE SAME THING as being intolerant of anything else.
