    Right, but there's rational ignorance where even smart, knowledgeable people just do not have the time or resources to keep up with the inundation of political news and investigate every story for facts and logic and publish a reaction, so they just don't, and the politicking is left to a few groups who can garner the most money to pay teams of people to do all those things.
