The concept is cool. I would definitely take advantage of it when I retire. The problem is the land on which you would build it. Personally I'd like to live next to water. Preferably the ocean which would never happen given the cost but I would settle for a lake and if that cost too much I'd go for a river.
I find your lack of faith...disturbing...

Yes, you would need land preferably with utilities hooked up.

I told Mrs. U I wanted to move into one of those once P2 got out of school. Her response: "Go ahead, have fun."

Absolutely. Running power and water would cost an enormous amount. Way more than the dwelling itself. I think this kind of thing is more for the rich family that owns land in the mountains and want a rustic camping site so they don't have to pull their trailer or set up a tent.

I've always said that if I ever did something like this ( would also be sans the Mrs.) I'd modify a travel trailor. But at under 19 grand this looks pretty reasonable. Especially if whatever time you spent there was good outdoor weather.

Yeah, I don't think the Mrs. would be going either.

Mr. DGUtley I can assure you, you are not alone.
It's ok if you disagree with me. I can't force you to be right.

I don't get the appeal of the tiny house. Why not just buy a nice fifth wheel, travel trailer or motor home?
