So you (and many others) believe if Trump tones down his rhetoric, Kim Jong Un will be nicer, less aggressive, and stop trying to perfect long range missiles?

Now that he's promised "fire and fury," he forces himself into a corner. He'll have to either follow through (which at this stage would be disastrous, the initial death toll could be around 300k Americans and millions of civilians) or make himself and our country look weak and embolden the NOKOs.
You think looking weak will be something new? We have been looking weak with past Presidents constantly trying to appease him. Someone will have to follow through at some point in time because we can't afford to let him develop accurate long range missiles. If you think the death toll could be 300,000 now, what will the death toll be after he perfects and stockpiles multiple long range missiles?

Nowhere in my post will you find those words. I'm saying his rhetoric only serves to ramp up tensions and further isolates us from allies we will NEED in any confrontation with NOKO, such as China.

I don't think the NOKOs are crazy enough to commit suicide unless they feel like they are dead anyway. More than likely they are trying to develop these capabilities to put themselves on equal footing with SOKO and shield themselves from Western military intervention. No nuclear-bearing power has ever gone to direct, hot war with another nuclear-bearing power. The NOKOs think it's in their best interests to develop those weapons.

We need cool heads in power who understand realism.

Well, your assessment did not turn out to be accurate. The tough talk worked. NOKO backed down and China agreed to reduce imports from them. Realism? Yes, Trump was being realistic in using "tough talk", as that is all they understand.

NOKO was never going to fire on Guam unless they felt like they were dead anyway.

Let's not lose sight of our goal which is to stop them from developing and stock piling long range ballistic missiles - and then threatening everyone if they don't get their way. Their threats concerning Guam was an example of how they behave and a symptom of their dangerous mind set. This is not the end of it; we need to keep the pressure on and that's exactly what will happen when we have joint military training exercises with SOKO.

Look forward to a bloody April. Many wars begin in April.
