Do you know what times zones are?

The US is six hours behind Libya.. so the attack was over by 10 PM eastern standard time.

    Here's an excellent time line.

I am just grateful that of our people 30 got out.. Our guys were brave. If Smith and the Ambassador hadn't been in that 'safe room', they may have survived.

    Check out this time line.

And again with the blatant irrelevance.
The fundamental difference between conservatives and liberals is simple.
Conservatives, like our founders, understand that man has a propensity to do evil. They accept this fact of human nature and have given us the tools to protect ourselves from those who might victimize us.
Liberals believe that under the right mandates, restrictions and incentives all that potential evil can be bred out of humanity.

There were no armed drones in the area.

Officials watched the grainy footage from the drone. It was hard to determine, among the hundreds of people, who was with a militia supporting the U.S., who was taking part in that second attack, and who was a spectator — people, as the source said, "watching a war movie in front of them." Sporadic gunfire added to the confusion about separating friend from foe.

Officials eventually decided they couldn't drop large bombs in a residential neighborhood.

A decision was made: no close air support, not even as a show of force that could possibly disperse the fighters. The Americans, and their Libyan allies fighting with them on the ground, were on their own.

This all that Obama had to allow, and that mortar would have been toast. Two American "bumps in the road" would still be alive.
