No, it is pretending that you are leading by example without actually doing anything other than pretending you care. It is being a "strong proponent" of global warming on the internet or in conversation without actually doing anything at all to reduce your carbon footprint for instance. Often people think that supporting the right cause or saying the right words makes them virtuous by proxy by "supporting" those who are actually making a meaningful effort. In other words, being fake, posers, take your pick
