What trash problem, dump it in the sea it will all dissolve in it's vastness" Centuries earlier Europe said we can cut these trees down and make energy there are too many of them for us to make a dent in them"
It usually doesn't end well and the OP is right we would literally be adding to the mass of the earth and we have no idea what effects that could cause.
Mining the other bodies in the solar system is just another cop out to developing sustainable lifestyles and only a delay. Trying to change the orbits of asteroids is a very bad idea.

They will say our impact will be minimal , just like the the forest of Europe and oil. We never learn

I don't think we are going to change the moon's orbit.

And now we are on the verge of replacing oil. Last week we posted about a new way to take CO2 from the atmosphere and turn it into gas.

The atmosphere is of course limitless and puny human activity could never do any harm by changing it's chemical composition, right? We have to stop burning $#@! to produce energy. Anyone who's ever been on a sun porch on a sunny day knows part of the answer. Transportation of energy causes megacorp profits, dependence and a huge loss of energy.

Well, you are thinking wrong because it would change the moon's orbit. That moon was made to shed light when it is supposed to, to set the tides as it works with other planets and star systems, the rivers of life, and so was not designed to be mined apart. You think you know something? Hell, you don't.

The Spanish were here right afterwards. It was the English that couldn't get it for 100 years.

JAP, you don't know much about science. You cut and paste too much. I'm no scientist and I still laughed at your sources and what they said.

We are heading in that direction with science and advancements; but it would be folly to go backwards to avoid fossil fuels in the present.
