Why is no one saying the most obvious solution? We need a wall of separation between government and the private sector. The federal government has no role to play whatsoever in the private sector. Check your Constitution. You will find no authority for the federal government to intrude into private businesses.
Let the people take it to the supreme court; if they say no to the government, then I'll accept that.

I am not. Maybe you can opt in to pay substantially more taxes to pay for your free health care promises.

Yes. It is government control over your life. Vote the way we expect you to or we will put you on the waiting lists.

It's disturbing to see so many people willing to allow government to take more control over our life. There was a time when people did not want or trust government to have more control over our life's decisions.

Now most people don't seem to believe that they should be required to provide for their own needs before they cover their wants.

Thinking that government isn't in it to make money is naive. They are in it to take our money as a way to control our life.

If there is a problem with the VA, then work to fix it as opposed to junking it.
I've got many friends from Canada and almost everyone of them would disagree with you. True they pay more in taxes but get more for their money in return. If you have a heart attack, a cancer or other serious problem, you get immediate attention; if you want a nose job or liposuction or other non-emergency procedure then you may have to wait until they have an opening but either way when you are discharged from the hospital you don't get a bill to pay. My friends from Canada laugh about the American healthcare system when we discuss it and are amazed that a country of our size and wealth cannot guarantee healthcare for all of its citizens.
