I went in after high school in 1987. I guess there was some sort of check less than for a security clearance. I was completely unaware of anything like that at the time. But I had no issues to fly a red flag, so to speak.

Probably something like what the feds call a suitability determination.

I am for wanting immigrants serving in our military getting a greased route to citizenship if they are vetted and true. Especially front line combat vets. A more suitable person to become a citizen I cannot imagine.

To add... I would like Trump to correct the sin of our leaving honorable Iraqis and Afganies who have interpreted for our troopers being left out in the cold to be given immediate citizenship for them and their whole families. These type of men and their sons would be a benefit to the USA.

I agree. I worked with them in Iraq and they took me to dinners with local leaders and also helped me process claims against the US. They were honorable men and women fighting for a national Iraq.

The neocons bank on such sentiments.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

It never fails. Convenience of the US Govt. The Military can re-nig on an enlistment contract, but the recruit cannot. Don't laugh, Ive seen it before. Once the recruit signs the contract they are bound by law ; but if the Military needs to change something, well, the contract is then amended.

Foreign nationals enlist, gain US citizenship. Whats wrong with that? Your inside the fence looking out, not outside looking in. People want security, certainy in their lives. Nothing wrong with that.

Well, there is not a MAJOR war going on, so we dont need numbers in the military.

I proudly served, but the US Military is not without faults.

Each recruit must meet eligibility and suitability requirements. Only after a background check, history check and meeting stringent medical requirements, are potential recruits allowed to enlist.

Some years back, the US Military was discharging members, whom went to Yemen and joined Jihadi. That's the last thing we need is a US Military trained member fighting with terrorist. Especially Special Operations, and/or Sapper - Engineer qualified people.

Yeah. The same ones that are shooting our troops in the back when we go on raids together, or throwing a grenade in the tents of US Servicemen while they sleep.

I dont believe that our President is favorable of Middle Eastern military. I don't believe he trust the Saudis, Iraqis, Iranians, Afghans, or anyone else. Afghans hid Osama Bin Laden, Iraqis and Saudis are shooting our troops on raids.
