Our military needs all the bolstering it can get, thanks to being gutted over the last 8 years.

The budget increased every year under Obama until withdrawal from Iraq in which is naturally went down a tad.

Cut the BLOATED military budget. Pull a few billion out of foreign engagements, cut a couple F-35's which cost between 70 and 120 million each and are currently grounded again due to failure.

This thread is more proof that the only cuts in spending a liberal will tolerate are cuts in defense.

They hypervolize about the national debt and wasteful spending, but always oppose all attempts to reduce debt.

We have a lot of guys here Jim who believe that a conventional military is still a viable game plan.

It isn't - warfare has changed - that's been proven in an increasing manner during every failed war we've fought Vietnam until now.

It's all about covert ops, better intel, high tech weaponry such as drones and highly trained special forces.

Tanks, bombs and boots on the ground as we attempt these grand social experiments and wait for people to throw flowers at our feet?

Did I say spending more money makes us better? I don't remeber saying that. I do remember once Joe Biden saying that we can spend our way out of debt though. Do you agree with him?


I do remember saying that national defense is a requirement. I know that cutting defense in half will not make us safer.
