agreed but the problem with that was the premiums were so high many could not afford the insurance. Those who could afford it paid as much as 200% more then those without pre-existing conditions and many policies had a cap on the maximum paid out in a given year which was an issue for those with serious medical conditions.

All of that can be addressed by the state. We don't need to destroy an industry to regulate it.

Agreed; that was an issue that should have been addressed and it was never done by the Obama administration for whatever the reason. I don't believe that the Trump administration has done much of anything to fix that issue as well aside from attempting to repeal it.

The ACA needs to die.

They join a high risk pool. You know there are still 27 million people without health insurance. The ACA has failed to cover everybody.

I agree; that is an excellent option for those who can afford to start an account, but for those who have to choose between paying the rent and food bills, how this feasible for them?

I know of a few co-workers when I was working who had that type of insurance; the problem with that is they'd come down with something and not go to the doctor because certain types of visits were not covered, so they'd show up to work, infect the rest of us with whatever aliment they had, getting the rest of us sick. again because they couldn't afford the basic medical insurance due to the high cost for them instead opting for the catastrophic insurance only.

They should have been sent home. That's bad supervision.

I would suggest that if you make cinnabuns every morning with 3 cups of sugar, 3 cups of fat, and 3 cups of gluten (flour), and weigh 300+ pounds and have diabetes...buy your own damn health insurance.
