In the post-9/11 world, those who have made such claims, no matter how well-grounded their claims may be, have often been derided and attacked as “conspiracy theorists” for questioning the official claims that the three World Trade Center buildings that collapsed on September 11 did so for any reason other than being struck by planes and from the resulting fires. Actually, a common topic of discussion is about whether FDR manipulated the Japanese into attacking. So yes, we do.

Do we say that D-Day didn't actually happen and was just a PR stunt by the government? Do we diminish the deaths and sacrifices of those who were affected by saying it was all in vain?

Not whether it happened, but there is a lot of discussion about how much impact it had on the German war machine and whether it actually contributed as much to the defeat of Germany as most think.

So the idea that American policies like cutting off Japan's oil forcing them into an attack is a much different discussion than saying those were American pilots in Japanese planes killing American service members.

Not whether it happened, but there is a lot of discussion about how much impact it had on the German war machine and whether it actually contributed as much to the defeat of Germany as most think.
