2- Get the information in the hands of a journalist who would publish it all. This would show the American people what was really going on, and that crimes were routinely being covered up, but at the expense of being labeled a traitor.
The 3rd option you pointed out is not really an option. Reporting that stuff to someone in congress is the same as reporting to co-conspirators in the actual crimes. The information that would have came out, if any, would have been trivial and of no consequence. Manning would have got life in prison, and the American people would have no idea why for at least 50 years. And we would still believe our military was not partly made up of pre-adult kids with no developed conscious. And we would never have direct evidence that we are lied to continuously by our own government.
This painting of whistleblowers as treasonous villains is amazing. The people they are reporting are the treasonous one's. When you are in a position to choose whether to protect people around you or in your chain of command, or to protect the Constitution and everything it stands for, what do you do?
Do you become a traitor to a handful of other traitors? Or do you get labeled a traitor, but prove your devotion to the American people?
Manning should have been executed. That's the only option there should have been.

Oh, and you're mixing Snowden up with Manning.

I appreciate anything you can understand. Snowden did not have any right to do what he did. I hope to hear of him dying in a "car accident." He knows it too. That's why he ran.

The men who declared the colonies independence from Great Britain had no right to do what they did. And yet here we are.

You would have remained a Tory and run off to Canada.

I don't know what I would have done, either. I believe I would have suffered early and probably died early. It depends on which colony I was born and raised in.

Snowden has not screwed his country. Snowden warned his countrymen and women of the very great evil the federal government has been perpetrating against us.

They didn't run away, did they? They were traitors to their country. They got away with it by by winning. As pleased as I am about that, the facts are the facts.

It also has nothing to do with Snowden. This is a feeble attempt to change the subject.

I am not the one calling for Snowden's execution. You are.

As far as is apparent to people with no security clearance Snowden has revealed the nature of the governments enormous crimes against American citizens. Nothing more.

He broke laws covering unauthorized disclosure of classified national security materials. But the information so far disclosed does not involve national security. It involves spying on every American, all day, every day.
