I have frequently defended President Trump--some people seem utterly obsessed with his (rather unpleasant) personality--but there is one propensity that he has that I do, indeed, find a bit troublesome: It is the tendency to answer an uncomfortable question with the meaningless phrase, "We'll see." I find myself wondering if it would not be better to declare, simply: "I would rather not address that point at this time. Are there any other questions?" This would certainly be more straightforward--and far less coy.

I doubt he is uncomfortable with these questions - he likely just isn't ready to answer.

One could certainly dodge the question in a more straightforward way--as I suggested, viz.: "I would rather not address that point at this time. Are there any other questions?"

Petty complaint. Obama would just ignore a question and walk away. Reagan would pretend he couldn't hear the question. Presidents only answer question they want to answer. Each handles it differently. Trump likes to keep people guessing.

When anything you say or do is met with criticism you might as well just do what you feel most comfortable with. As the great orator Ricky Nelson once said"You see, ya can't please everyone, so ya got to please yourself"
