A military strike against North Korea

Only because lying politicians sent our soldiers into Iran's region. Americans would do the exact same thing if Iranian soldiers had invaded Mexico or Canada. Simply put, if the US would simply mind its own business, like the founders advised us to do, then there would be no conflict with Iran.
When was the last time Iran or its proxies committed a terrorist attack on American soil?
Pretty much every country in the world, including the USA, does stuff like that.

I agree with that, but a military confrontation is inevitable. Based on my experience living there for more than two years, I believe the North is not nearly as capable as they want everyone to believe.


Their forces have virtually no combat tested experience. They are not trained to handle the type of battle they would be forced to face. It is possible that they could lash out in desperation, but that would lead to the complete elimination of their society.

America wasn't weak. We just weren't strong enough to maintain a global empire. But the founders didn't want an empire because empires are expensive, authoritarian, and unsustainable.

But let's for the sake of argument accept the premise that America was weak at the time. Why would it make sense to abandon a foreign policy that worked so well simply because you became strong? If you become rich, does that mean it's a good idea to engage in profligate spending? Put another way, simply because you CAN does not mean you SHOULD. And there are many good, timeless reasons why we should not maintain an empire.

North Korea is eventually going to have to be dealt with and diplomacy is not going to work with them. Obviously at some point a military confrontation is unavoidable. It's just a matter of when and who initiates it.

There is nothing that suggests that the North Koreans are a threat to the United States militarily.
