I will focus my answer only on the worst president in the history of the United States: comes from my answer Bryce Ebeling's answer to What do you think of the government of Woodrow Wilson and its impact on the USA?It is not directly from here. But this is where it started: https://www.quora.com/Which-US-presi...ing-a-dictator
- He imprisoned THOUSANDS of Americans who dared speak out about the war & citizens who dare speak out about his tax policies in public & citizens who dared read the Constitution aloud in public. (An FDR on steroids — the only thing missing were the CONCENTRATION CAMPS FDR used to imprison over 100,000 Americans).
- Despite his oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, he called it an old dusty and out of date document.
- He thwarted the constitution at every opportunity. His every action was to turn the presidency into “Philip Drew Administrator” where the President would simply decree — he openly advocated the end routing of the constitution — his ideal outcome was “that communism” thing in Europe. Their leaders had it much easier, simply decree and act without a “pesky constitution” or separation of powers to worry about
- He single-handedly resurrected the KKK from the walls within the Whitehouse by screening “Birth of a Nation.”
- He re-segregated federal government jobs (often just firing black federal workers) and the military.
- His second wife (who he married in office) essentially ran the country after Woodrow Wilson’s stroke — she really did become the first woman president no one knew we had.
- Despite campaigning on keeping us out of WWI — 2 weeks after his reelection, he put us into WWI simply to help mold the world to his desire (League of Nations). He wanted to reshape the borders of the world.
- Started the annual Whitehouse Press Dinner to cozy up to reporters — bringing them inside the administration. He figured those who “became his friend” would not talk bad about him in the press.
- It was the Wilson Administration who Hitler and Goebbels learned the value and execution of state-sponsored propaganda as well as the use of gas chambers.
