Poll: 39 percent back secession, strongest among Democrats, blacks

Which of the following is closer to your view?:

Statement A: If a majority of residents within a given state prefer to have the final say over their destiny without the control of Washington D.C., then let them have it – it is their right.

Statement B: If residents within a given state were to take such a drastic measure and secede from the United States, the Federal Government would be justified sending in the military to prevent secession from taking place.

That's from Poll: 39 percent back secession, strongest among Democrats, blacks.

That would require a lot of people moving.

Libertarians were trying to do something similar in New Hampshire. Except they don't want to secede- they just want to control local and state elections.

Not necessarily. It would be at the state level, the people of a state deciding to secede or not.

Ask people a dumb question and chances are you'll get a dumb answer. Whining Americans are the new generation it seems. I'd be all for them seceding so long as it was from earth. Send the dopes to Mars or someplace and name it Dumbville. Robinson Crusoe where are you?

"It’s peculiar, because “states’ rights” has become a popular refrain in Republican circles lately. Last year Gov. Rick Perry of Texas wondered aloud whether secession was his state’s right in the aftermath of laws out of Congress that he disliked. In part because of this renewed rhetoric, in the coming remembrances we will likely hear more from folks who cling to the whitewash explanation for secession and the Civil War. But you have only to look at the honest words of the secessionists to see why all those men put on uniforms."

So you're calling Democrats and black dumb and whiny?

What would his black neighbor think!?
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

Secession is a natural right. America was founded on an act of secession from the British empire. Those who deny the right of secession might as well deny that man has any rights at all.
Power always thinks it has a great soul, and vast views, beyond the comprehension of the weak. And that it is doing God service when it is violating all His laws.

No, the people are catching onto what a real con the U.seless S.tick Con.stick-it-con-institution really is, when the politicians can't make up their minds to anything together that works out well for very many at all, just because a self-governing people is supposed to be America, and so the Bill of Rights and the 10th Amendment. The government of America for the several partnerships abroad as well as closer to home have been just way too devious at best. The people have a right to self-government. There are different needs for different places. Not all things are the same across the spectrum of the golden grains. The different races have a right to separate. The two-party system was designed to keep the people complacent. The people have a right to vote to leave the Dis-united States. The cloud formations...
