‘Evil Is a Make-Believe Concept’ Wrote Millennial

“You read the papers and you’re led to believe that the world is a big, scary place,” Austin wrote.
“People, the narrative goes, are not to be trusted. People are bad. People are evil.”
“I don’t buy it,” he continued. “Evil is a make-believe concept we’ve invented to deal with the complexities of fellow humans holding values and beliefs and perspectives different than our own… By and large, humans are kind. Self-interested sometimes, myopic sometimes, but kind. Generous and wonderful and kind.”

An ambulance arrives where four tourists were killed when a car rammed into a group of foreigners on bicycles south of the capital of Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for a car-and-knife attack on Western tourists cycling in Tajikistan that killed two Americans and two Europeans.

They were wrong, now dead wrong.

I agree people are generally good, but people are also a product of their experiences. People are also often selfish, deluded, foolish, angry, mentally ill and irrational.

The concept of evil is based in the supernatural. Many believe in its existence, but its existence can't be proven.

They weren't "millennials" they were human beings, good human beings who spent two years cycling across the globe in peace. The way this article was written was pretty disgusting as well. Seems like there aren't many good people working for Breitbart either based on the writing style and passive aggressive insults towards these innocent victims.

You could say the same thing about the concept of good.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

That was a pretty funny story. After some of our guys were killed by unexploded ordinance in my last Iraq tour I told all of my troops not to get killed by stupid.

People are fundamentally good, if they werent there would be blood running in the streets.

Experienced Police Officers know that most people are good people, and see crime from a more personal perspective than others, including the news media.

Those same Police Officers will tell you theres a percentage of humans that the only way to describe them is evil. The most experienced criminal Psychiatrist in the country, said the only way he could properly describe Ted Bundy was that he was inheritently evil. He was not insane, he was not mentally ill. He was extremely intelligent and came from a good family and a good background.

From my personal perspective and experience, I believe Ive seen what I can only describe as evil a few times, I could count them on my hands.

I get that, but my opinion is that even the most "evil" people and acts, while difficult to explain, are simply mental illness and animalistic traits and reactions. Bundy for instance was a psychopath whos experiences and reactions turned him into a sadistic killer. It doesn't excuse him, but could explain him.

For me, I just don't see the supernatural at work.
