    Marching to a Different Drummer

"Rich people march to a different tune.

The richest Americans may be way more likely to listen to classical music — which could include Beethoven, Mozart and Bach — than the rest of us. Indeed, those who listened to classical reported that they raked in an average income of more than $114,000 per year, compared to just $58,000 for country music fans (the lowest of those measured), according to a survey of 1,500 millennials released this month by TDAmeritrade. TD Ameritrade said that it believes this finding will hold true for all age groups."

It works for me. I mostly listen to classical and instrumental music. I have a large, self-curated music library. Which comes first, listening to the right music or getting that high income? I have listened to classical music and instrumental music my entire adult life.

    Your mileage may vary.

I'm very far from wealthy, but I enjoy both classical and country music.

Middle-class, yes. There are a few genres of music I cannot abide. Pop music, rap, jazz and hip-hop are detestable to me. I love oldies and R&B, too.

What do you prefer? I'm a Baroque fan myself. I like Mozart and Beethoven but there is very little I enjoy that was composed after 1820 or so.

Same here. I've liked "Classical" music since childhood. It's part of our cultural heritage.

I was first introduced to Classical music on Saturday morning cartoons. It just expanded from there.

lol I first heard The Barber of Seville watching Bugs Bunny as a kid. That's one of the few Romantic pieces I enjoy. "Classical" music is a catchall term for a number of different periods.
