Our Right to Life Must Include a Right to Die

"“It was just like one fluid motion,” DeRoche said. “He drank the medication, he went to sleep and he died in six minutes. I think we were all a little surprised he was gone that fast.”

The friends stayed until a funeral home worker arrived."

Various States allow doctors to help a terminally sick patient take his or her own life. As a lifelong pet owner I see the value of putting a suffering animal to death with love and mercy. Can we do any less for people who suffer, sometimes extraordinarily?

Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.

I pledge allegiance to the Constitution as written and understood by this nation's founders, and to the Republic it created, an indivisible union of sovereign States, with liberty and justice for all.

I agree 100%. I plan to be living in an assisted-suicide legal state when it is my time.

Yeah, Mister Poposity holds no sway with me. If you are suffering, you should be able to end it.

Thanks. I am not surprised that some religions will oppose a right to die.

A right to die will be a better thing once we separate government from our health care decisions. When governments are involved a right to die is a coerced "choice". I am not speaking of that.

When religions become involved is it any better than government involvement?

    That's inspiring.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

Safeguards against patient manipulation by both family and state? Psychological evaluations to determine depression?

Sure it is. If you want to die, then die. If my beliefs tells me not make that choice who has the right to pass judgment?

No one forces you. If your belief in a god keeps you from ending your suffering who am I to complain?
