It is true though that much of the expansion of Christianity was indeed done with force.
To me that's not an indictment of the religion itself, but rather those who used it for their own goals.
It was done as early as the fourth century and continued in Medieval Europe, Africa and the Americas.
Most religious fanaticism throughout history has been spread by force. Christianity is certainly no exception, although Islam is the biggest perpetrator of it.
They were just nuts. Nothing like al Qaeda or ISIL who actually carry out their ideas.

Constantine's acceptance of Christianity was...well Constantine's acceptance of Christianity. Pagans remained free to do as they pleased. That should be no surprise since Christians were a minority. Indeed, Constantine himself continued to celebrate pagan rites and was not baptized until his death.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.
