From that point forward, the Easter date depended on the ecclesiastical approximation of March 21 for the vernal equinox.

The Easter as the Christmas replaced pagan festivities. It is a fact. Christianity, as most of the religions, take myths from other religions and include those as theirs, because, otherwise they would not win the people that they are trying to convert. It is a fact.
