Hmm, you must be watching different news than I do. And I try to watch them all. Remember that we have been coming out of an ice age for the last 12,000 years. Rivers and lakes have disappeared. The environment has changed alot in that time. But in the last few hundred years, as people have needed more energy, things are getting worse. And they are getting worse in perfect proportion to our abuse of our planet. Not just carbon emmissions, but pollution across the spectrum. I don't have a phd in climate science, but I know that no matter how many climate scientists get paid off by big oil, I still have eyes. If you can't see what has been happening, I would suggest that it's because you don't want to see it, exactly as @spunkloaf said.
