It's also true as nathan and beevee point out, a tax break is not a handout. It's allows a company to keep more of it's earned income to spend as it sees fit.

Do some ose their jobs. Happens all the time in restructuring.

And if they fail to turn things around they'll go under.

Re Taxes: Companies must float above the universe someplace in the minds of the right wing libertarian types. Surely they must hire educated martians who fly through space. Anyone see this, it must be a fascinating spectacle.

Keynes was a capitalist, you know. A liberal who thought the state could manage the free market better than it manages itself. The problem is giving the state all that power leads to two things. One, corruption. Two, concentrating "he most wickedest of men" believing they will suddenly do good.

To me it looks like the laid off employees will end up in many cases collecting unemployment insurance and whatever public assistance they are entitled to; all at the expense of our taxpayer dollars. They lose and we lose.

Who was celebrating? The company apparently offers a low grade service and has been gong down for a long time. The fault there is management. The employees let go will do what they always do...move on.
