FBI agent says bureau leaked stories, then used them to get FISA warrants

A top FBI special agent admitted to House committees last week that bureau officials were known to leak information to the press and then use the resulting articles to help obtain surveillance warrants.

Special Agent Jonathan Moffa, who worked with controversial former FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, testified last Friday behind closed doors before the House Judiciary Committee and House Oversight Committee.
A source with knowledge of his testimony confirmed to Fox News that Moffa said FBI personnel would use media reports based on information they leaked to justify applications for Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act warrants. The source told Fox News that Moffa acknowledged this “had been a practice in the past.”

@Trish, does this kind of corruption from the Obama administration concern you at all? Or is this just more unsubstantiated accusations?

Bill of what? We need a complete overhaul of federal agencies including shutting some down and merging others.

It is true that several government agencies could be eliminated and others could be merged as they are redundant. But, how is that relevant to the comment from Cannons Front which you quoted?

We suspected this. Well, we knew this. This is rotten to the core. We need a special counsel to investigate the FBI and the FISA warrants.

Let's see. You create a false claim out of thin air. Leak it to one of your minions in the media. They report it and you use that as a basis to initiate an investigation into your political opposition.

Why not? You know that the media person who ran with the leak isn't going to say anything pertaining to the source. The leaker is always going to deny it. The partisan hacks will say it's a nothing burger.

The justice department and other federal law enforcement agancies are going to do anything about it because they don't want to bring any discredit upon themselves. The Congress doesn't have the balls to do anything about it because they don't want the media to attack them, so it goes on and on

Someone here once said that there were coup plotters at work in our government. I have long agreed with this person. As more comes out, how can many others continue to deny it.

Where have you been? They deny it here every day.

    @Tahuyaman

You continue to try and put me on one side or the other. I don't care which side breaks the law, they should be investigated. The End

I do find it curious that a tweet leaking information that was garnered from a closed door hearing about leaks is the hard evidence you're hanging your hat on.......

    Never Trumpers require even less.
When Donald Trump said to protest “peacefully”, he meant violence.

When he told protesters to “go home”, he meant stay for an insurrection.

And when he told Brad Raffensperger to implement “whatever the correct legal remedy is”, he meant fraud.

    War is peace.

    Freedom is slavery.

    Ignorance is strength.
