I mentioned in another thread the increase in demands for segregation at universities as a result of liberal identity politics. The response was well, gee, I haven't heard of that. So here are just a few of the many stories on it.
Universities warned of 'creeping segregation' as Sheffield launches LGBT-only student halls: "Universities have been warned of a “creeping segregation” on campus after Sheffield became the first in the country to open student housing where only gay and transgender students are allowed to live."
An Unusual Idea for Fixing School Segregation: "Many proposals for addressing school segregation seem pretty small, especially when compared to the scale and severity of the problem. Without the power of a court-ordered desegregation mandate, progress can feel extremely far off, if not altogether impossible. Some even believe—understandably though mistakenly—that no meaningful steps can be taken to integrate schools unless housing segregation is resolved."
Black student calls for racially segregated events at University of Iowa: "It’s not enough for the University of Iowa to host “black-theme events” that are open to everyone. According to Daily Iowan columnist Wylliam Smith, the taxpayer-funded institution should exclude non-black people from certain events on campus – a sort of permanent, location-specific day of absence."
NON-WHITE STUDENTS AT UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN DEMAND SEGREGATION: "Student activists at the University of Michigan are insisting on their own “permanent designated space on central campus for Black students and students of color to organize and do social justice work,” The College Fix reports."
Universities Are Embracing Segregation Again (Just Don’t Call It Segregation): "Colleges around the country are creating facilities with the goal of separating students on the basis of race."
There's plenty more if you look.
