I've never even seen shelf milk in Canada. I have seen it in Europe as well as in the Caribbean. Every grocer in Canada has a large section of refrigerated milk. I found an article that indicates how popular it is in Canada (not): https://www.theglobeandmail.com/life...rticle4096124/

I tasted it in the Caribbean - yuk, but it was better than condensed milk which is even worse. You don't really notice it much in coffee. I'd never actually drink a glass of it or put it on cereal! I don't know where you saw it, but I expect that it might be more popular among people going camping, where refrigeration is not really possible, although according to that link I posted, immigrants seem to like the stuff.

I can remember the last time I drank a glass of milk.

I'll have chocolate milk every now and then. I don't remember the last time I drank plain milk.
