    I was in the office ready to go out to a job site. The office had set chairs around a television somebody had brought in. I didn’t have time to watch and I had a job to do.

    Exactly. 911 made clear that what had to be done was surveil Americans 24/7 to remain vigilant against foreign terrists, thus opening a new era of fear and distrust well suited for high tech "solutions".
