I think we should make a deal with Spain. If they will pay for a full blown high tech wall between the U.S. and Mexico we'll give Puerto Rico back to them.

Really, that's not a bad idea. That would be what a National Socialist government would do, in order to settle some arguments.

Didn't we get Puerto Rico from Spain that way?

Yes, according to Trump, speaking to reporters at the White House, the island's electric power plant was "broken" and "shut" [down] before Maria hit.
Of course that was a lie, but seeing as how the man is currently averaging 5.1 lies per day, is anyone surprised?

While visiting Puerto Rico Tuesday, the president praised the fact that only 16 people have died since Hurricane Maria hit the island, comparing it to Katrina in 2005.

Seriously. Just like the federal response in Louisiana after Katrina was also considered a win. After all, the people of PR didn't all die from leptospirosis, typhoid fever, cholera and Hepatitis A or E and they're not even an actual state.

I think sometimes people have too high of an expectation. One you won't get help until the storm is over, two you are lucky to see a red cross station giving out warm food if you can get there because of trees blocking roads and powerlines down. Three it will be days before you see water handed out if you ever see it. I have never seen anything except one time the red cross that last one I didn't see any.Good luck with finding a working gas station. We know in the Carolinas you are own your own. This is why we prepare before the storm hits.

One thing you can do is our states do allow you to get replacement of food in freezers and refrigs you lost if your power is out long enough depending on how many in the house. Something to look into and watch when they allow you to sign up if you are in it's path.

It doesn't matter who is president, be prepared to be own you own for a good while.
