The West needs to watch Russia and China's military partnership

    https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/14/asia/vostok-2018-analysis-ilyushina-hodge-intl/index.html

Moscow (CNN)It was an impressive display of military might. The heaths of the Tsugol training range were transformed into a simulated battlefield, as a Russian and Chinese "coalition" fought a fictional adversary.

While Russian President Vladimir Putin watched, modernized Russian T-90 main battle tanks rumbled into position, staging an assault with the support of Chinese Type 99 tanks. An air strike featuring Su-35 fighter jets, a cornerstone of Russian-Chinese military interoperability, then followed.
Thursday's maneuvers were the capstone of Vostok 2018 -- the military exercises that Russia has billed as the largest it has staged since Cold War-era drills in 1981.

Yes, that is probably the one way we could be opposed successfully .We could also just stay out of all the bull$#@!. Bad things can happen to hated imperialist who fall. Hopefully the world knows who exactly profited from their exploitation such as super rich, oil companies, banks, politicians , oil services, mercenaries, arms companies , etc. As long as they know it wan't the rank and file or the poor kids the neocons sent to be killed or maimed or to kill and maim.

There is no question about it, the United States must continue to watch both the Chinese and Russian militaries. Any potential partnership, our vulnerable forces in Korea, the surrounding East and South China Seas off of China, the Black Sea Fleet off Crimea, the potential threat matrix is endless. And as much as we Americans hate to admit, the Russians make a very fine tank.

Note how the turret 'squats' how it lacks a 'neck.' The Russians have always built their T series tanks with defense in mind, these tanks very difficult to kill. The German leadership sent back destroyed T-34 turrets straight off for study, the German anti-tank guns then built in reaction. The T-34 was wider, could maneuver in more difficult terrain, was easily serviced, and packed a wicked punch.

This isn't the boogeyman is it? It appears our potential enemies use their oil companies, banks, politicians, and arms companies to build weapons of war. I wonder, should the US just 'stay out of it' not try to enrich our corporations and...just allow China and Russia to build weapons of war, let them run these maneuvers. Let them make alliances, we've nothing to fear. We should eviscerate our military and stand down, show them we mean no harm, show them we're no threat. After all, both China and Russia looking at a weakened United States....would certainly stand down themselves, we in fact have nothing to fear, the only reason for their military saber rattling here is in reaction to the US' provocative behavior. Correct?

We have nothing to fear but fear itself. Right?

Look to donttread's post there. This is the only way to 'oppose' the US is to join forces. If we'd just eliminate all foreign influence on our part, these two peace loving entities would cease operations, stand their militaries down, hell probably even get rid of their nuclear weapons.

Fresh footage of futuristic weapon tests & development released by Russian military (VIDEOS)

    https://www.rt.com/news/433656-russi...eapons-videos/

Russia's Defense Ministry has released a new batch of videos of cutting-edge weapons, first unveiled by President Vladimir Putin back in March. The footage shows new tests, as well as gives a grasp of the development process.
The impressive set of new weapons was unveiled by Putin during his annual speech before the Federation Council back in March. The futuristic armaments, some of which are already in service, are designed to give Russia a strong deterrence against any aggression against the country.

The link above has several other videos of the weapons including a nuclear powered cruise missile.

Top US admiral warns of Russian submarine threat

    By Ryan Browne, CNN

(CNN)America's most senior naval officer in Europe, Adm. James Foggo, said Friday that he was "concerned" about some of Russia's newer and more advanced fleet of submarines.

"Russia is not 10 feet tall but they do have assets that keep me vigilant, concerned. One of them is in the undersea domain," Foggo, the commander of US Naval Forces Europe, told reporters at the Pentagon.

While Foggo said Russia's surface fleet, including its aging aircraft carrier, posed little threat -- saying Moscow did "not have a robust capital ship capability" -- he did express concerns about Russian advancements in its development of submarines and cruise missiles.

"We've seen creation of new classes of all sorts of submarines and ships. I'm more concerned with submarine warfare," Foggo said earlier on Friday while addressing the Atlantic Council in Washington.

"Russians have produced the new Dolgorukiy-class submarine. They've produced the Severodvinsk-class submarine. They've produced the new Kilo hybrid-class submarines," Foggo told reporters at the Pentagon.

"Russia launched Tuesday what it called its largest-ever military drills, with hundreds of thousands of troops taking part along with Chinese soldiers in a show of force NATO condemned as a rehearsal for "large-scale conflict."
President Vladimir Putin is expected to attend the games after hosting an economic forum in Russia's far eastern city Vladivostok where his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping is one of the prominent guests. The week-long war games dubbed "Vostok-2018"(East-2018) "have kicked off" in far eastern Russia, the defense ministry said.Taking part in the drills are around 300,000 soldiers, 36,000 military vehicles, 80 ships and 1,000 aircraft, helicopters and drones. Some 3,500 Chinese troops will take part in the games.
