I agree that high IQ is not needed for success. And for many, it is an impediment.

But there is certainly no correlation between low IQ and success.

Of course there is. Higher IQ has been positively correlated with success both in school and in professional life. Your intelligence is also at least partly inherited from mommy and daddy. I know that frightens you but that's not my problem. In any case, no one suggested that effort/hard work is not also positively correlated with success. I'm not interested in the kind of scientific obscurantism you seem compelled to engage in and I see nothign good coming from this conversation.

It's called the Flynn Effect. I know all about it. Not sure what you are trying to say though.

IQ tests and intelligence tests in general are widely used and have been gradually improved for over a century now. That is to say, criticism has been listened to and acted upon but the very idea that intelligence can be tested and, worse still, that it's at least partly inherited is profoundly disturbing to some progressives.

The problem is that IQ tests don't always measure those things that allow people to succeed. Some people with very high IQs have absolutely no social skills, often leading to poor success outcomes. Some people with very high IQs are the most successful serial killers on the planet. A limited definition of success. Some people with moderate IQs are very successful because of those skills not measured in IQ tests. In this world, popularity is more a guarantee of success than intelligence.

Right. But we were discussing blacks, and how 80% of them fall below the average white IQ.

We're not discussing people with moderate IQ's...

The studies that you have presumably read have been proven to have serious flaws in their methodology. The jury is still out.

Low birth weight, poor early nutrition and impaired parenting are also factors in impeding the ability of children to learn.

Only among a shrinking segment of the scientific community. Frauds like Stephen Jay Gould and other Jews have done their best to obscure the study of intelligence.
