A Park City employee and an athlete ambassador for a Utah-based climbing equipment company were arrested Thursday on suspicion of theft after police say they stole more than $1,500 worth of hunting gear near Parley’s Summit.
Polly Samuels McLean, 49, and her husband, Andrew Fisher McLean, 57, of Park City, were arrested and booked into Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of theft and criminal mischief, according to jail records.
The two were caught on camera taking two tree stands and a trail camera on a trail just west of the Summit-Salt Lake County border on Sept. 1, according to a jail report. The report stated the McLeans had to “cut the security cables attaching the items to the tree” to remove the stands.
Another trail camera also captured the theft, the report added. They were later identified as the McLeans and were arrested on Sept. 6. The equipment taken was valued somewhere between $1,500 and $5,000, the report stated.
