Inmate tries to rape NYPD officer in court

An inmate tried to rape a female NYPD officer inside a Brooklyn courthouse on Friday — but the terrifying attack was thwarted by another defendant, police sources told The Post.

Jeriah Bamugo — who has been busted twice already this week on groping and stalking charges — was about to be hauled before a judge for arraignment in Brooklyn criminal court when he attacked, sources said.

He pounced on the officer as she tried to transport him and another inmate from a holding cell and into a courtroom at the Schermerhorn Street courthouse around 11:20 a.m.

The 26-year-old sicko allegedly grabbed the officer by the neck, pinned her to the wall and growled, “I’m going to have sex with you” — all while ripping off her belt and clawing at her pants, multiple sources said.

They fell to the floor, and that’s when the hero inmate shoved Bamugo off her as her partner, who was standing outside the area where the cells are, and court officers rushed in.

“She was trying to transport him between cells,” a law enforcement source said. “And he threw her to the floor and tried to sexually assault her. Thankfully, he was unsuccessful. Another inmate saved her.”

Another law enforcement source added, “Officers responded within 30 seconds. I saw one guy sprint back into the cells. The inmates immediately started screaming.”

The officer, who was not immediately identified, is on modified duty and did not have a gun on her at the time, sources said.

Who was the moron who delegated an unarmed female officer to this detail?
In quoting my post, you affirm and agree that you have not been goaded, provoked, emotionally manipulated or otherwise coerced into responding.

So, did the hero inmate get a reduced sentence for saving the NYPD officer?

So one officer transports two prisoners while other stand around? Nice procedure! If the other inmate's crime is relatively minor he should get a Get out of Jail free card.

I hope she was on birth control otherwise it would have been her fault if she had been raped and impregnated. Then she would have been forced to have her rapists baby and probably would have to allow him visitation rights if Kavanaugh is confirmed.

We throw people in jail for no reason to subsidize certain industries, including cops, so probably not.

Good grief, you libs have lost your minds. One of the most idiotic posts I've ever read.

Edit: Maybe I overreacted. We're you kidding?

Sorry Capt'n but that was what has been stated and implied on a different article just the other day.

"women should be more responsible for their reproductive system by avoiding getting pregnant in the first place".

My comment was over the top to make a point on how absolutely ridiculous it is to blame all women for not planning better.
