Trump rolls back pollution rules for drilling on US lands

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — The Trump administration rolled back an Obama-era rule meant to curb climate-changing pollution on Tuesday, easing restrictions on energy companies that allow huge volumes of natural gas to escape after drilling it from U.S. lands.
The move replaces a 2016 rule adopted under President Barack Obama that forced energy companies to capture methane, a key contributor to climate change. The replacement rule does not have the same mandates for companies to reduce gas pollution.
It comes a week after the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency proposed weakening a similar rule for emissions from public and private lands.

This has been an unsettling trend. I know we are trying to reduce our independence from oil by switching some things over to natural gas, but just fracking willy-nilly is only going to cause problems. There will be immediate problems that surface in the form of cancer and serious nerve damage in populations and animals around these well sites. Then there is the correlation between high-pressure fracking and earthquake swarms. And lastly, Methane is thousands of time worse as a greenhouse gas than co2. So venting methane directly into the air with no burn stack is lunacy.

Because that has so much to do with the facts, right? Instead of knee-jerk politics, we should be asking ourselves what the frack is going on.

Amazing how he is taking our nation backwards in time instead of moving forward into the future. It's all about making America great again regardless of the consequences. It has taken a little while for what he has done to start to be apparent. But we are seeing it show up in the news little by little and not much attention is given to it. You see a gas leak here, and oil spill there, a man made red tide here, a little gas explosion there.

This is what happens when you remove regulations that were put in place to protect the environment and make sure companies produce safely. When we remove all of the red tape we just get a free for all, and no one is held accountable because anything goes in the wild west.

I am afraid we are just getting started this is just the beginning.
We are all brothers and sisters in humanity. We are all made from the same dust of stars. We cannot be separated because all life is interconnected.

Obama had an unsettling trend of creating new unneeded regulations.

No you wouldn't. Libs never take one for the team. From the team, yes. For the team? Not so much.
